IPL Vasculight Elite

Vasculight Elite – IPL+Nd:Yag (dilated capillaries, skin discolouration, photorejuvenation)

vasculight laser
A product of an American company - Lumenis Ltd - the world-wide leader in the field of medical and aesthetic laser technologies. The company was established in 2001, formed by the merger of ESC Medical Systems and Coherent Medical Group. Lumenis has been a pioneer of the IPL technology (since 1994) and photorejuvenation treatment, which reduces redness, eliminates age spots and fine lines without the need of recovery period. The first IPL device, PhotoDerm VL, for closing dilated capillaries on the face was introduced to the market in 1995, while in 1998 the company launched Vasculight with two treatment heads: IPL and Nd:Yag, dedicated for much wider range of possible treatment indications.
VascuLight Elite combines intense Pulsed-Light (IPL) and IPL/Nd:YAG laser systems (1064nm). Laser light has unique properties, which allow for the effects that would be impossible to obtain in soft tissue with alternative methods. The mechanism of action involves mainly heating the lesion to sufficiently high temperature, so that it is damaged and then removed from the tissue.

Vasculight Elite model used in Laser-Medica has the following heads:

yag-head

Neodymium-YAG (Nd:YAG) with a wavelength of 1064 nm, for removal of deeper located veins,

ipl-head

3 IPL heads
-VL/PL for closing face capillaries and eliminating skin discolouration,
- SR for photorejuvenation treatments,
- HR for photoepilation;

IPL (intense pulse light) - uses intensive source of light with a range of wavelength from 550 to 1200 nm; it has infrared cut-off filters, so it has a wide spectrum of possible implementations, involving closing dilated capillaries, eliminating skin discolouration, epilation and photorejuvenation;

Vasculight FiltersMost often, for treatments, the following wavelengths are used: 550 nm, 560 nm, 570 nm, 590 nm, 640 nm and 645 nm. The size of filter is adjusted to the treated area and may measure: 8x8 mm, 8x15 mm or 8x35 mm.

Vasculight screenComputer software offers the possibility of very precise parameter setting, depending on clinical indications. The screen displays a window, in which we define the patient's skin phototype according to Fitzpatrick's phototyping scale, type of the treated lesion and its location (face, body). The software then suggests optimal parameters for the treatment: wavelength/kind of filter, energy density, number of pulses (1-3), pulse duration (ms) and the duration of intervals between single pulses (ms).
The mechanism of action involves mainly heating the lesion to sufficiently high temperature, so that it is damaged and then removed from the tissue (lysis).
